“In 1992 our youngest son, Warren, graduated from college, got married, and left home. From that point, my wife Annette and I only had to look after ourselves and each other. Since that time, we have had to contend with the following major health situations: 1. brain surgery[Annette] 2. spinal disc surgery[Glenn] 3. two knee replacements[Glenn] 4. eye cancer[Annette] All of those situations were addressed at health care facilities in south Baton Rouge since these services were not yet available at Lane. In each of the incidents, we spent far more time coming and going than was spent in the actual diagnosis, work-up, operation, and follow-up. We're getting older and with aging comes health changes along with the accompanying care and treatment associated with these changes. So we welcome the expansion of health services for the region. We have already had one cancer incident in the family and may have another. This is why we are helping in the Radiation Oncology Center project at Lane and would like for everyone in East Feliciana to join us.” -Dr. Glenn Brady, Clinton

“Lane Regional Medical Center has provided quality services in many ways to my family for a number of years. It is very exciting to know that Lane is now adding Radiation Oncology services. To be diagnosed with cancer and told you need chemotherapy or radiation treatments can be devastating. I have friends and family members that have had to travel 45 minutes for a treatment that takes 10-15 minutes, then another 45 minutes to return home, 5 days a week, for many weeks. Having this service so much closer to home will be a true blessing. I am committed to this project and I hope you will consider joining the Friends of Lane Club by making a donation to this worthwhile foundation.” -Loretta Watts, Central

“ I am involved with the LaneRMC Foundation’s Annual Giving Committee because it is dear to my heart and I enjoy serving causes that enhance the public good. Our current project of raising funds for the new Radiation Oncology Center to treat cancer patients in our area is a case in point. Since Debbie just went through chemo and radiation for breast cancer, we have first-hand experience on just how hard it is on patients and caretakers. We often said how we wished there was a local facility – and now we will have one! We support this worthy cause and ask that you will, too.” -Terry Gomez, Slaughter
